IMPORTANT FACTS CONCERNING GARBAGE AND YARD WASTE PREPARATION AND PICK-UP:
The Borough is divided into three (3) collection zones for garbage, recycling and yard waste collection. The zones are "A", "B", and "C". A complete list of every street and the zone that they are in is found in this calendar. All changes in collection days are printed in red lettering. If there is a Holiday, please check your calendar for any changes. IT IS ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY THAT YOUR GARBAGE BE IN THE PROPER CONTAINERS. IT WILL NOT BE PICKED UP IF IT IS IN PLASTIC BAGS. DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON, PLEASE CHECK YOUR LOCAL NEWS PAPER FOR ANY CHANGES IN THE RECYCLING OR GARBAGE COLLECTION SCHEDULE. Return to top | COLLECTION STICKERS: Large, Heavy Items will not be collected unless they have a "pick-up" sticker on them. Stickers are $10.00 each. Examples of items requiring stickers are generally items that are over 50 pounds or are large and bulky such as s washer, dryer, hot water heater, etc. or for mattresses, box springs, stuffed chairs, etc. Tire stickers are also required. The cost is $1.50 per tire and the rims must be removed. All stickers are available at Borough Hall. Senior citizens (62 years and older) and handicapped people must still obtain these stickers, but with proper identification, this fee will be waived. In the event of a change in ownership or change in tenants, it is the responsibility of the owner to make sure that the proper stickers are purchased. If this is not done, it will result in fines and/or liens against the property in accordance with our local ordinance. Any construction material resulting from any new construction or renovation to homes will be the responsibility of the owner. It is a state law N.J.A.C. 7:26A-5.1, that no one will be allowed to dispose of any appliances (refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners) that has refrigerant fluid ("Freon") in them. You must have a certified technician remove the Freon properly - after this is completed, the technician will give you a statement to this effect - bring this to borough hall to obtain a removal sticker. Remember that all doors must be removed on any item that has a door, such as refrigerators, washers, dryers, etc. before putting them to the curb. It is the Law. Return to top | YARD WASTE: Yard waste is picked up on
Mondays on the scheduled week for your zone. Please refer to the zone
chart above. Yard Waste collection dates are also reflected on the Borough
Calendar. Grass clippings and leaves may be mixed. Brush must be clean and separate from grass and leaves. Plastic Bags are not permitted. Brown leaf bags are available
in Town Hall and also at the Public Works facility. Please call for details. Brush must be clean and separate from grass and leaves and either put in barrels or bundled in lengths not to exceed
