Senior Bus Information

  • Participants must reside in the Borough of Wharton and be 62 years of age or older and complete the attached application.

  • All reservations must be made at least 48 hours but not more than 20 working days before the requested appointment date

  • All appointments must be made through Wharton Borough Senior Transportation Officer at (973) 659-9111 by leaving a detailed message Please include your name, phone number and destination, along with details such as the Doctors name, address and appointment date/time

  • The Bus Services: Wharton, Rockaway, Dover, Denville, Mt. Arlington, and portions of Randolph and Roxbury. See the Driver with any questions on area covered.

  • The Wharton Senior Bus seats 20 passengers plus 2 wheelchair The Driver will offer assistance in an effort to prevent injuries. Any injury must be reported to the Driver immediately.

  • The Senior Bus may use the passengers' residence driveway for pickup and drop off if the driver deems it to be safe for

  • Wharton Senior Citizen Transportation Program shall not operate when there is inclement If the weather clears sufficiently, medical services may be resumed at the discretion of the Borough.

  • The driver will arrange pickup, route destination and return drop off.

  • The Borough of Wharton shall make every effort to continue to provide our seniors with an efficient transportation program. If you experience any problems with our service, please call the Borough Administrator at (973) 361-8444.

  • Your suggestions for improving the Wharton Senior Citizen Transportation Program are always welcome. Please call the office at any time.

  • Your patience is requested when the bus is running late. We will make every attempt to contact you if there is a change in the schedule.

  • We ask that cancelation of any appointment be called in before 8:30am on the day of your ride to 973-659-9111

Borough of Wharton

Wharton is a community of approximately 6,500 residents in the highlands of Morris County. Wharton is located between Routes 15, 46 and 80, stretching south from the main entrance of Picatinny Arsenal, a major army research and development center, to Route 46 abounded on the west by Roxbury Township and the east by Dover and Rockaway Township. The Borough is approximately 2.2 square miles.
