William J. Chegwidden
Mayor
First, I would like to thank all of our residents for adapting as well as we can to the continued impacts the Rt. 80 closure is having on our community. I would like to urge everyone to please support our local businesses in whatever way you can as they are all hurting from this. We are doing our best to get them assistance and support on the Federal and State level, but nothing beats the hometown support our community can offer them.
In happier news, spring brings a lot of fun and exciting activities around the Borough. In April, baseball and soccer have their opening day ceremonies planned and the Fire Department’s annual Easter Egg hunt. We are also planning a job fair on April 30th. For more information on the job fair click here. May brings the annual Memorial Day Parade and our first concert in the Summer Concert Series.
Spring cleaning brings with it the return of yard waste pick up starting in April 7th on every Monday, except for holidays. For more information about yard waste pick up click here.
We are also hard at work planning our summer in Wharton. Registration for the Summer Recreation is open. For more information on the Summer Recreation Program click here. Please be sure to review all of the information as there are new requirements this year.
Plans for Canal Day, Summer Concert Series, and other fun events are underway as well. Check back here, on our social media accounts, or in the Mayor’s newsletter for information about summer events as the summer gets closer.
