Advancing Opportunities

Advancing Opportunities is a non-profit organization offering free social and recreational opportunities for adults and children with disabilities. Children and Adults living in Morris, Sussex, and Warren counties who are registered with the Division of Children and Families (DCF) or the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). ARC Morris

The Arc/Morris County Chapter is the largest provider of services for people affected by intellectual and related developmental disabilities and their families in Morris County. For more information visit their website.

Renegades Lacrosse

The Renegades Lacrosse program serves players in grades K-8 in the Morris Hills and Morris Knolls sending districts. This includes Rockaway Township, Denville, Rockaway Borough and Wharton. Click here for more information.

Summer Recreation

Wharton's 2022 Summer Recreation Program will run from July 5th-August 12th M-F from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at Robert Street Park. Children of Wharton Residents that are in Kindergarten through 8th grade are eligible to attend summer recreation for free.

This program is only for Wharton residents. You must be a Wharton resident to be able to attend, not have a Wharton mailing address and live in another town.

In order for your children to participate, you must pre-register, sign a health waiver, and provide proof of Wharton residency to be able to participate. Acceptable forms of proof of residency include- parent's or legal guardian's driver's license with Wharton address, utility bill with parent's or legal guardian's name and Wharton address, copy of a certificate of habitation used for registration for Wharton Schools, current report card with child's name from Wharton Schools. Other forms of proof may be acceptable. Please contact us at with any questions.

We will be offering free breakfast to all campers through the Community Food Bank. 

We will be offering some off-site trips at for a cost to be determined. Trip information and sign ups will be available during the first week of the program.

All of the necessary registration forms are available below. You can submit your registration forms via regular mail- 10 Robert St. Wharton, NJ 07885, via email-,  via fax- 973-361-5281, by putting them in the drop box located in the vestibule of the Town Hall entrance from West Central Avenue, by bringing them into Town Hall, or by attending an in-person registration event which will take place at Wharton's National Night Out on June 25th. 

We will not be accepting walk-in-registrations.

Borough of Wharton

Wharton is a community of approximately 6,500 residents in the highlands of Morris County. Wharton is located between Routes 15, 46 and 80, stretching south from the main entrance of Picatinny Arsenal, a major army research and development center, to Route 46 abounded on the west by Roxbury Township and the east by Dover and Rockaway Township. The Borough is approximately 2.2 square miles.
