Now Hiring Summer Recreation Program Director and Assistant Director

The Borough of Wharton is now accepting applications for Summer Recreation Program Director and Summer Recreation Program Assistant Director-

SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAM DIRECTOR – The Borough of Wharton in Morris County is seeking a highly motivated, responsible, and well-rounded individual for a Summer Recreation Director position. Experience working with children and Adult & Pediatric First Aid and CPR/AED certification is required. A background investigation will also be completed. This is a temporary position for the 2026 Summer Recreation Program. The salary range is between $8,500 and $10,000 based on experience. The Director is responsible for planning the program and running the program for approximately 100 children ranging from age 5 - 8th grades from Monday, June 29th through Friday, August 14th. Summer Recreation runs Monday-Friday from 9am – 12pm during that time period. The Director is responsible for managing all other Summer Recreation staff members as well.  Applications must be submitted online by April 15, 2026. EOE.

Experience working with children, Adult & Pediatric First Aid and CPR/AED certification is required. A background investigation will be completed. This is a temporary position for the 2026 Summer Recreation Program. The salary range is between $7,000 and $8,500 based on experience. The Assistant Director is responsible for helping the Director plan the program and run the program for approximately 100 children ranging from age 5 - 8th grades from Monday, June 29th through Friday, August 14th. Summer Recreation is Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.- 12pm during that time period. Applications must be submitted online by April 15, 2026. EOE.

Wharton is a community of approximately 7,346 residents in the highlands of Morris County. Wharton is located between Routes 15, 46 and 80, stretching south from the main entrance of Picatinny Arsenal, a major army research and development center, to Route 46 abounded on the west by Roxbury Township and the east by Dover and Rockaway Township. The Borough is approximately 2.2 square miles.

Town Hall Office Hours
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Monday thru Friday

Town Hall is open until 7:30 p.m the second Thursday of the month (except for certain election weeks) and closes at 12:30 p.m. on the second Friday of the month.
